Synopsis:
Our story begins in 1969, when
Vinny Rigatoni, a suave, Philandering, Italian milkman with
mob leanings, fathers an illegitimate child with Rebecca Manischevitz,
a dutiful yet free spirited, Orthodox Jewish housewife.
From the moment baby Joshua
entered the world. It was apparent to all who laid eyes on
him that something was very wrong. At the Bris the whole family
was shocked by baby Joshua's enormous endowment. By the time
he was six, Joshua refused to eat anything but spaghetti,
refused to wear anything but muscle shirts and tattoos and
insisted on being called 'Joey'.
At 13, his Jewish father Chaim
tried to teach Joshua about the family business. Unfortunately
'Joey' took his father's lessons and used them to no good,
setting up a protection racket in the playground protecting
the Jewish kids from the bullies. But Joshua thought his deeds
were noble as he soon become the protector of all the playground
victims, quickly rising to be the Boss of the schoolyard.
Unfortunately Joey's rule didn't
last long as the school principal got wind of his enterprise
and expelled him.
Things were bad for the Manishevitz'
and getting worse - Joshua had become irascible and business
at the family-run Kosher deli was terrible. Then came the
news that flabbergasted Rebecca. Joshua's real father, the
onetime milkman and rising local mobster, died suddenly, leaving
her no choice but to reveal her long kept secret to her son.
Joshua's life was about to change
in ways no one could have predicted.
