Corey, GeorgeA farmer whose land was destroyed by the Dunwich monster. Since Dunwich was founded by ex-Salem witches, it is likely that George Corey is a descendent of the title character of Mary E. Wilkins Freeman's play, Giles Corey, Yeoman (1893), about the Salem witch trials.
