Houdini, Harry
The
magician/escape artist (and narrator) who escaped from the clutches of
King Klephren and Queen Nictocris from under the Pyramids.
Harry
Houdini, at the height of his magic fame, wrote a number of stories for
Weird Tales each of which involved his getting into horrific situations
and escape through his tricks. Most famous of these was "Imprisoned
with the Pharoahs." Houdini wasn't much of a writer. Weird
Tales provided him with ghost writers. H. P. Lovecraft was assigned
the story of Houdini being trapped with strange ancient Egyptian gods in
the Great Pyramid.
