With the rules comes the challenge. You've got one hundred and twenty pages. You've got an idea. And if you do three pages a day in forty days you have a screenplay. But making the beats fall in the right places, setting up and derailing your audience with a fine twist, and dazzling them with dialogue most people wouldn't have thought of until three days after they should have said it is your job and you've got to do it in the format.
